Artist Statement
I've a year's worth of experience in photography. I've taken photo I, photo II, and digital imaging all my senior year. Last semester I was taking photo I and digital imaging at the same time so sometimes I got the two cameras confused. I mostly took pictures of architecture in Kansas City. I took pictures of the KC skyline, Kauffman Center, WWI Memorial, Golden Church, West Bottoms railroad, Buck O'Neil Bridge and Nelson Atkins Museum sculptures. I also took pictures of different KC fountains like the J.C. Nichols Memorial Fountain, Eagle Scout Memorial, Firefighter Fountain, Neptune Fountain, and Fountain of Bacchus.

I had a variety of point of view. I took pictures looking straight out, down and up. Like the Buck O'Neil Bridge photo is my night shot and I took it from the shoulder looking down the bridge. My biggest challenge was probably getting the night shoot cable to work. I think it's because I didn't fasten it correctly. I've definitely grown in photography throughout my senior year. I notice more than I used to. Like I didn't used to notice all the buildings in Kansas City. And I'm able to format regular photos with my iPhone better. Photography will probably be a hobby in my future. I don't plan on majoring in it, but I definitely plan on using what I've learned.
